William E. Montgomery

William E. Montgomery, 68, of Sebree passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013 at Baptist Health Center in Madisonville. He was born April 16, 1945 in Webster County, KY to the late Manuel Elliott and Agnes G. (Dills) Montgomery. Bill had retired from the maintenance department of Webster County Board of Education, was a member of Sebree General Baptist Church, Vietnam Army Veteran, Commander of American Legion Austin Collins Post #243 in Sebree, a member of Bailey Onton Masonic Lodge and the Shrine Rizpah Temple in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Willita Scott and Jean Stone; 1 brother: Donald Montgomery, and a daughter Mary Bush. He is survived by his wife Theresa Evelyn (Pike) Montgomery, 9 children: William “Billy” Montgomery of Indianapolis, IN, Jerry Courtney of Oklahoma, Angela Lampton of Iowa, Janet Hanks of Mt. Vernon, IN, Beatrice Northcutt of Oklahoma, Wilma Harris, Madisonville, KY, Vonda Calbreath, of Madisonville, KY, Tammy Knighton of Madisonville, KY, and Camellia Harris of Sebree, KY, one brother: Ronnie Montgomery of Tilden, KY, one sister: Sue Trahan of Montegut, Louisiana, 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 28 at Sebree General Baptist Church with burial in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree. Full military rites at graveside by American Legion Post #40. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday December 27 at Tomblinson Funeral Home and 10:00-until service time at the church.
