Willie Ruth (Shipp) Allen, 90 of Barnsley Community passed away at 8:22 PM Saturday November 13, 2010 at the NHC Healthcare facility in Madisonville, KY. She was born September 8, 1920 in Murfreesboro, TN to James William and Virgil Ethel (Miller) Shipp. She was a homemaker and a member of Earlington First Baptist Church in Earlington, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Finley Adamson, 2nd husband Elvis Lee Allen, 1 brother Richard Shipp, 3 sisters Lucille Cox, Bessie Baker, Katherine Brunson, infant Helen Adamson, granddaughter Tammy Davis and son in law Neville Ashby. 5 daughters survive her: Norma Ashby of Nortonville, KY Carolyn Esters of Mortons Gap, KY Margaret and husband Kirby Youngblood of Richland, IN Libby and husband Joe Gooch of Slaughters, KY Mary Allen and Jim Meacham of Madisonville, KY Grandson Richard Barish Jr. of Mortons Gap, KY 11 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild Several nieces and nephews Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday November 17 at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington, KY. Rev. Guy Gibbons will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Tuesday November 16 and 9 AM until service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Brack, Michael Brack, Bobby Johnson, Luther Wayne Johnson, Randy Shipp and Eddie Klemen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Joseph Barish, Tim Vannoy and Anthony Stewart. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.
