Willis Eugene (Gene) Wilson (Hillbilly Believer) went home to his Lord and Savior.
He was born Feb 15, 1945, to Marshall Wilson and Helen Brown in Industry, IL.
He married Nedra Sue Walraven of Industry on April 7, 1962. They raised four children; Rhonda J. Wilson of Poole, KY, Bryan K. Wilson of Evansville, IN, Tracy S. Nall (Todd) of Blackford, KY and Paula R. Wallace (Jeff) of Clay, KY.
In his younger years Gene worked as a farm hand in northern Illinois. He was an avid NASCAR, KY Wildcats and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
On September 24, 1970, Gene accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. While driving the tractor in the fields he would listen to Moody Bible Institute radio and read his bible all at the same time.
After moving to KY, he found a church family at Christian Fellowship Church in Evansville, IN. At that time, he became a truck driver. He enjoyed talking on the CB to other drivers about Jesus and counseling them on their marriages. He hated it when the truckers referred to their wives as their “old lady”.
He is presided in death by his parents Marshall and Helen Wilson, 3 brothers; Leland Wilson of Bardolf, IL, Wayne Wilson of Pekin, IL, Harold Wilson of Good Hope, IL, 2 sisters; Zelda Willey of Industry, IL and Eloise Booze of Elkhart, IN, 1 grandson, Tate Nall of Blackford, KY.
Gene is survived by his wife of 61 years Nedra, his daughter Rhonda, son Bryan, daughter Tracy and daughter Paula, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.
Visitation will be, 11:00 AM until service time Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the funeral home.
Pastors Dale Beaver and David Niednagel will officiate.
Burial will be private.
