Wilma Lee Farmer

Wilma Lee (Ellis) Farmer, 93 of Henderson passed away January 23, 2016 at St. Anthonys Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was employed at Kenmore Electric where she was a line supervisor overseeing the making of radio tubes during and after WW II. She became a fulltime Mother and Homemaker in 1955 after the birth of her second son. She loved to crochet, sew Barbie doll clothes and crafts in general. She owned and operated a ceramic studio where she taught many the joy of creating their very first ceramic art pieces. She was an active member of the VFW Womens Auxiliary and a past member of Zion Homemakers Club. In the last few years she enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls with her daughter-in-law Brenda Farmer for Hospice patients, only to receive a Prayer Shawl of her own on January 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Glenward Farmer of 62 years Granddaughter: Carrie Farmer Parents: Luther and Mary Lou Ellis Sisters: Louise Miles and Jean Hawes Brothers: Parvin Ellis and Robert Ellis She is survived by 2 sons: Robert E. Bob Farmer and his wife Brenda Roy Gene Farmer and his wife Terry (Shade) Farmer Grandchildren: R. Bryan Farmer and his wife Lori Michelle, Steve Farmer and his wife Nikki, Kevin Farmer and his wife Lisa, Matt Farmer and his wife Alana, David Farmer and his wife Jessica, Jenny Thurner and her husband Mark, Patrick Farmer and his wife Lindsay. 16 Wonderful Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, January 30 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Dr. Hollis Marshall will officiate. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in Owensboro, KY. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
