Wm. Douglas "Doug" Oakley

Wm. Douglas “Doug” Oakley, age 56, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 at his home in Jacksonville, Florida after a lengthy struggle with illness.  Doug was born in Henderson, Kentucky and later moved to Florida with his family. Doug was a cosmetologist in Jacksonville for over 30 years and was most recently employed at Haute Headz in Jacksonville. He attended Deermeadows Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his father, H. Wayne Oakley and by his grandparents.   Doug, beloved son of Judy Oakley of Jacksonville, Florida, is survived by brothers Greg Oakley (Penny) of Louisville, Kentucky, Brandon “Brad” Oakley of Jacksonville, Florida and Chad Oakley (Karen Vitello) of Jacksonville, Florida, nieces: Erin Goodale (Brandon), Samantha Oakley, and Brianna Oakley, nephew Zachary Oakley, great-niece Sophia Goodale and great-nephew Beckham Goodale.  Services will be 11:00 AM (CST), Tuesday January 29, 2019 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, Kentucky.  Bro. Dennis Mayfield will officiate.  Visitation will be Monday 4-8PM (CST) and Tuesday 9AM until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Onton Cemetery in Onton, Kentucky. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a local Humane Society to honor Doug's love of animals.
